Brotherhood of St Laurence
The Brotherhood of St Laurence is an Australian not-for-profit organisation working toward a vision of an Australia free of poverty. It conducts research, delivers services, and advocates on behalf of people experiencing disadvantage.

Challenge
The Brotherhood’s online presence relied on a closed-source, outdated content management system that was no longer supported. They needed to quickly migrate to a new system that could meet future needs.
Given the diversity and complexity of the services provided, the organisation required a content management system that was robust, flexible, and easy to maintain. It also needed to allow specific access permissions for many site editors across the organisation.
Solution
Cerebrum implemented the open-source enterprise content management system TYPO3, creating design templates based on the existing site’s look and feel. A large volume of pages and content was migrated to the new system, and staff were trained to manage and maintain content effectively.
The site was made stable, secure, and easy to use, and has since been updated to meet modern mobile-responsive standards. We continue to consult with the Brotherhood of St Laurence to restructure content, add new functionality, and integrate with external systems such as CRM and email marketing platforms.
Cerebrum has also developed and maintained sub-sites to meet specific functional and communication needs across the organisation. Enterprise hosting and maintenance ensure all applications are secure and performant. Through a close partnership, we provide ongoing consultancy, development, training, and support to help deliver their digital strategy successfully.
