About the Client

Biggin & Scott Land (B&S Land) was formed in 1999 to specialise solely in the sale of greenfield development land. With expertise in the understanding of land, particularly the workings of Urban Growth Zoning (UGZ) and Precinct Structure Plans (PSPs) they are trusted advisers to the government, public and private sector. After 20 years of specialising in this field, they are proud to be considered the market leader and take pride in their long-term relationships and industry specific database.

Challenge

Cerebrum was initially approached to support B&S Land in the redevelopment of their website and to host and maintain the revised WordPress site. Working closely with Melbourne-based design agency Galloway Design, the essential requirements were to rebuild the website with a fresh, updated design and optimised to promote their Real Estate industry credentials. It was imperative the revised site communicated the breadth and depth of their extensive experience and encompassed their brand story. It was also vitally important the site better supports B&S Land's marketing activities and enables integration with Action Point to provide up-to-date real estate property data for users.

Solution

From a rebuild perspective we built upon the strong foundations of their current WordPress site, working closely with Galloway Design to redevelop the website to reflect the modern look and feel they were after. The modified design highlights B&S Land's brand narrative and the team's unparallel understanding of land, and depth of insight in the industry. The revised site also offers simplified user experience, automated listing updates, and enhanced marketing support. We are confident the site will be more responsive to enquiries with the integration of the Real Estate portal providing property listing information based on 'live' data from Action Point.

The technical implementation also involved installing required plugins and implementing functional elements of the site such as, standard posts with text, images, and video capability, featured posts pointing to specfic projects, media posts with PDF download, Google maps integration and efficient linking, and a maintained grid of results to name a few. We also supported B&S Land with content migration, testing and launching of the redeveloped site, system installation of the new site and hosting arrangements and continue to support, host, and maintain the site on their behalf.

Mid-2022 B&S Land reached out for our support in changing the domain name of their site. Cerebrum's involvement was about making a smooth and efficient transition from bigginscottland.com.au to bsland.com.au. This involved hosting the DNS (Domain Name System) for both domains managing web traffic redirects while the name server switch takes place, and updating and reconfiguring the hosting and WordPress instance to utilise www.bsland.com.au, including migrating plugin licences. We also offered further consult to B&S Land with any potential updates to Google API's required to support the new domain.
